Our weekly Nu Metro movie ticket giveaway competition draws to a close this week for the year. Make sure you enter.

What’s new at the movies?

Swing into new universes with Spider-Man™:  The ground-breaking, adrenaline-fuelled new 3D vision of the Marvel Comics-icon received the Golden Globe-award nomination for Best Animated Feature last week.
Look out for Jennifer Lopez in Second Act – a romantic comedy-drama with enough candyfloss-charm to make the holidays sparkle even more; just the one for mothers and daughters to enjoy.

For younger kids, there’s the animated Christmas family-adventure Elliot the Littlest Reindeer.  And, Peter Jackson fans will be pleased to hear that his epic new fantasy-adventure, Mortal Engines, arrives in Nu Metro Cornubia’s “Premium Large Format” Xtreme-cinema this week.

SPIDER-MAN™: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE (10-12PG)

This new superhero action-adventure introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask. Miles’ life becomes complicated when he is bitten by a radioactive spider, and he finds himself developing superpowers, which includes venom strike, camouflage, sticking to objects, incredible hearing, Spidey sense, and much more. Meanwhile, the city’s nefarious criminal mastermind Kingpin has developed an ultra-secret nuclear super collider which opens up a portal to other universes, pulling different versions of Spider-Man into Miles’ world.

SECOND ACT (13 LV)
Second Act is a comedy in the vein of Working Girl and Maid in Manhattan. Jennifer Lopez stars as Maya, a 40-year-old woman struggling with frustrations from unfulfilled dreams. Until, that is, she gets the chance to prove to Madison Avenue that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts, and that it is never too late for a ‘Second Act’.

ELLIOT THE LITTLEST REINDEER (PG)
When one of Santa’s reindeer suddenly announces his retirement, he needs to find a replacement and fast. Against all odds, Elliot and his best friend Hazel set out to prove that he is the horse for the job. As Elliot and Hazel take on the North Pole reindeer try-outs, Hazel learns that Christmas as we know it may be headed for disaster.

MORTAL ENGINES (13 V)
Thousands of years after civilisation was almost destroyed by a cataclysmic event, humankind has adapted, and a new way of living has evolved. Gigantic moving cities now roam the earth, ruthlessly preying upon smaller traction towns.

**WIN tickets to see the movies showing at Nu Metro Cornubia.
