A VIRGINIA couple literally took the plunge recently to showcase their love for one another by getting married underwater. Tracy-Lee Sydney and Terence Galloway’s wedding took place 27 metres under the water on the KZN south coast. The couple, who met 10 months ago, were married at Cathedral, a dive site on Aliwal Shoal. “We both have an interest in scuba diving and love the ocean so what better way to celebrate our love than getting married underwater. We exchanged our vows by means of flashcards and used silicone rings for the ceremony. The whole ceremony was done underwater. The only thing we did on the surface was sign our marriage certificate. It was an incredibly special moment for both of us,” she said. The special moment, was captured by Tracy-Lee’s cousin, Daryn Moore. Tracy-Lee will be attempting her first, while husband, Terence, will be aiming to complete his 29th race.
