Man dies in uMhlanga shooting

More than 15 shots were fired after an altercation broke out on Palm Boulevard.

POLICE have confirmed one of the people shot in altercation at a club/restaurant in uMhlanga in the early hours of Saturday morning has died. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was one of four injured in the incident.

A case of murder has now also been opened on top of three attempted murder cases.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the station, more than 15 shots were fired in the incident.

“Police officers responding to the scene seized three firearms. Several store front windows on Palm Boulevard were damaged in the shootout,” he said.

A video on Facebook surfaced showing the damage done to the store front windows in the aftermath of the shooting.
