Special votes applications coming up

Registered voters can apply to cast a special vote from next Thursday.

WITH election day just over a month away the IEC is  urging registered voters who are pregnant, physically infirm or disabled to apply for special votes for the May General Elections. Applications for special votes will take place between 4 and 18 April, the IEC said.

The special vote application will take place between Thursday, 4 April and Monday, 8 Apr 2019.
According to the IEC they will be doing home visits on Monday, 6 May for residents who are unable to visit a voting station.

Voters who will be away on 8 May, voting day, may visit the voting station where they are registered the day before. The voting station will be open from 9am to 5pm on Tuesday, 7 May.

To cast a special vote you need to apply for a special vote on the prescribed form. You can also apply online from 4 to 18 April.
Remember your original green ID book, ID card or temporary ID document are acceptable.
