Man killed trying to cross M4

When paramedics arrived on the scene, the man showed no signs of life.

A PEDESTRIAN, trying to cross the busy M4 highway, was killed last night at around 7pm.

According to Netcare 911’s Shawn Herbst the incident took place on M4 south bound opposite Virginia Airport.

“Reports from the scene indicate that an adult male was struck by a mini-bus taxi while crossing the road,” said Herbst.

He said the pedestrian was assessed on scene by a Netcare 911 Emergency Care Practitioner and found to have traumatic injuries and no signs of life.

“He was declared deceased on the scene,” he added.
