Call to join Beachwood School reunion dinner

Northglen News recently spoke to Dave Birkett, Mike Seligmann and Barry Solomons who said they were excited about the upcoming Class of 1969's 50th Reunion.

NORTHWOOD School will be hosting its annual Reunion Weekend (6 June – 8 June) which this year is extra special as the school celebrates its 70th Jubilee. One of the highlights of the weekend is the Class of 1969’s 50th Reunion.

Northglen News recently spoke to Dave Birkett, Mike Seligmann and Barry Solomons who said they were excited about the upcoming reunion.

“This is a momentous occasion, as some of us have not seen each other since we left the school 50 years ago. We have been in touch with guys scattered around the world, Cambodia, USA, Australia and New Zealand to name a few and they will be attending. We are missing around 20 class mates who we can’t seem to get hold and we are appealing to family here or anyone who knows them to get in touch with us,” explained Birkett.

His thoughts were echoed by Seligmann who also urged his classmates to support the Northwood School rugby team on the reunion weekend.

“From our side we are organising a supper at the Mad Italian on the Thursday before our Reunion dinner and it will be great to support the first team who take on Kearsney College on Saturday, 8 June. We have a list of a number of old boys who they weren’t able to contact. Some of them are Ian Palframan, Wally Brooker, Patrick Slavin, Jeff Cowan, Eric Eksteen, Frank Finnermore and Des Harris to name a few,” he said.
