Elderly man found strangled in Durban North home

The 73-year-old man's body was discovered by his wife.

DURBAN North SAPS are investigating the death of a 73-year-old man who was found strangled in his home in Durban North on Monday.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle van Reenen, officers were called to the home on Waterkant Road just after 5pm.

“The homeowner returned home from work to find her husband unresponsive. The man was assessed by Crisis Medical Paramedics and found to have notable signs of strangulation as well as injuries consistent with an assault to his head. He was declared deceased on arrival,” he said.

According to van Reenen, police were on scene investigating the death.

Attempts to get hold of the Durban North SAPS have been unsuccessful.
