Durban North car thief gang busted

The suspects were driving a white Volkswagen Polo on Kenneth Kaunda Road at the time of the arrest.

FIVE suspects believed to be linked to more than 30 cases of theft of motor vehicles in the Durban North policing area for the month of May alone have been arrested.

According to Marshall Security’s Kyle Van Reenen the suspects were arrested at the weekend after the company intercepted a white Volkswagen Polo on Kenneth Kaunda Road on Saturday at about 9am.

“The vehicle was brought to a stop and with the assistance of the South African Police Services, five suspects were apprehended.
“A search of the vehicle revealed numerous implements used for theft of motor vehicles.
The suspects were remanded into the custody of the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing,” he said.
