Burglar arrested in Parkhill

The suspect, who was found in possession of a stolen microwave, was arrested on Chris Hani Road.

A BLUE Security armed response officer arrested an alleged burglar following a housebreaking in Everest Road in Durban North on Tuesday night.

Blue Security’s Brendan Porter said the two officers responded to the scene after receiving a report that a burglary was in progress.

The incident occurred at around 7.30pm.

“When the officers arrived at the scene they found that a garage window had been broken and that an intruder had gained entry onto the premises. The officers spotted the suspect fleeing from the property towards Chris Hani Road and gave chase,” Porter said.

“One of the officers managed to arrest the suspect on Chris Hani Road. He was in possession of a microwave that he had allegedly stolen from the property,” Porter said.

SAPS was alerted to the scene of the crime.
