Sweet 16 celebrations for Robin Hood Foundation

IT was a morning of fun and reflection as the Robin Hood Foundation celebrated its ‘sweet 16’ at the Durban Jewish Centre on Wednesday.

Guests at the event heard how the Covid-19 pandemic had strengthened the organisation, enabling it to provide 1.5-million meals and 16 000 litres of milk and maas to the needy.

The total of 450 tons of food and supplies were donated to those in need. Founder and chairman of the organisation, Cindy Norcott, said the Robin Hood Foundation will continue to assist impoverished communities.

“There is not a day that goes by when we don’t get calls from somebody offering to donate something… There is a saying that goes “privilege is unusable to those who wear it”… We are so blessed as an organisation,” she said.
