Suspected copper cable thief apprehended in Avoca
"Officers were told that two suspects were stealing copper from a private property within the Avoca area and fled towards Umhlangane Road," - Sanveer Sooklall.
TWO people were caught stealing copper cables from a private property in Avoca on Monday, August 23.
This is a second incident to have occurred in the area in two weeks involving the alleged theft of copper.

Sanveer Sooklall of Swift Private Security said security officers received information about the theft at about 16:30.
“Officers were told that two suspects were stealing copper from a private property within the Avoca area and fled towards Umhlangane Road,” he said.
The information and description of the suspects were immediately circulated.
“Both suspects were spotted on Umhlangane Road in possession of the stolen copper. One suspect was immediately apprehended by various security companies and the residents from the area, but the other fled the scene into the dense bushes,” he said.
SAPS was contacted and a case has been registered.
