Durban North charity event packs a punch

The Hurt Game Kings fight night takes place on Friday, February 18 at Crusaders Sports Club (10 Ranleigh Crescent).

THE Knuckle Game Boxing Academy in Durban North will host an exhibition fight night to raise funds for non-profit organisation (NPO), House of Love and Hope (HOLAH) Baby Home.

The home, which is a registered place of safety for abandoned babies and children with special needs, is run by Kim Brown and her partner, Leanne Lorrance.

Owner of the academy and coach, Trevor Wolmarans, said the event was about lifting the spirits of the community and giving back.

“We are really excited to bring a vibe to the Durban community and give back to HOLAH for the amazing work they do. My son is doing his part for charity and will be taking part in an amateur exhibition fight. There will be several other bouts on the evening. We are hoping for as many people to come out and enjoy some good boxing and also do their part for charity. The proceeds from the event will be given directly to the home,” he said.

Wolmarans added the event will be held outdoors on the Crusaders sports field.

The Hurt Game Kings fight night takes place on Friday, February 18 at Crusaders Sports Club (10 Ranleigh Crescent). The amateur exhibition fights start at 18:00. Tickets will be sold at the door and cost R100. Seating is based on first come, first serve. All proceedings will be donated to HOLAH.
