THE inaugural Reddam House Umhlanga Festival of Hockey was a resounding success.
That is the word from the school’s director of hockey at Reddam House, Gowan Jones.
The festival hosted both indoor and outdoor matches with the uMhlanga school winning both the boys and girls titles.
“Both our teams were unbeaten throughout the festival and the standard of hockey on display was extremely high. I’m super proud of our teams, who were fantastic, both on and off the turf.

This was our first tournament since the Covid-19 pandemic and it was great to have teams from different parts of the country as well as other parts of KZN participate. The camaraderie and spirit among all the teams was commendable,” he said.
Jones said based on the success of this year’s event he would
“I’m confident this will be an annual event going forward. I feel these types of events help expose players to different systems of hockey and experiences which helps boost their confidence,” he said.
