Help north Durban organisation make an im’pact’

PACT is calling on the community to assist in bringing down their vet bill and to support them in their fundraisers throughout the year.

THE Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment (PACT) rescue organisation is grappling with an overwhelming vet bill that has escalated to over R200 000.

Founder Neeri Naidoo said this crisis intensified during the fireworks season.

To tackle this financial strain, PACT has planned major fundraising events in March and April, including a paint event and a golf day. These initiatives aim to generate much-needed funds while promoting animal adoption.

It costs over R1 100 to take care of each dog.

“PACT is also expanding its adoption outreach efforts, engaging with venues to host weekly or monthly adoption days. One of the key initiatives is a meet-and-greet session at Umhlanga Beach every Sunday afternoon, where potential adopters can interact with dogs in need of homes. Additionally, the PACT cattery at Stirling Crescent is open seven days a week, allowing visitors to adopt or spend time with cats,” said Naidoo.

Visit Phoenix Animal Care and Treatment on Facebook for regular updates on fundraisers, adoption days, meet and greet events and rescues.
