Run by local foodie Beverley Green, Bev’s Kitchen has become a firm favourite among fairgoers.
From her Mount Edgecombe kitchen, Beverley creates artisanal preserves and baked delights, everything from the tangy Mamba’s Chilli ‘n Mango Relish to rich chutneys, jams, and festive brandied fruit cakes.
Her famous triple chocolate and pecan brownies and almond blondies are a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.
“We love being part of the Ray of Hope Fair each year,” said Green.
“It’s such a beautiful way for the community to come together while supporting small local businesses while helping a cause that changes lives.”
Now in its sixth year, the Ray of Hope Christmas Fair has become a highlight on the local calendar. The much-loved indoor market raises funds for Ray of Hope Babies’ Home, a sanctuary caring for abandoned babies as they await adoption or reunification with family.
Organiser and long-time volunteer Sharon Moss says the market brings the community together in a spirit of generosity and festive fun.
“By coming to the fair, you’ll be helping a small business and supporting Ray of Hope Babies’ Home,” she said.
“Funds raised from stall bookings go toward medical costs, nappies, school supplies, and other needs for the children.”
Shoppers can browse a festive variety of stalls, including homemade treats, clothing, candles, toys, table runners, jams, pickles, juices, and more.
There’ll also be a book section — perfect for Christmas gifting — and a selection of crockery and dinnerware for bargain hunters.
Entry is free on both days. The market runs from 14:00 to 19:00 on Friday and 09:00 to 14:00 on Saturday.
