KZN VIP medics and multiple emergency services were dispatched to the scene, where they found the truck extensively damaged after reportedly losing control.

The passenger sustained the most severe injuries and was trapped inside the wreckage.

Fire department crews were called in to assist and worked swiftly to free the trapped passenger. Once extricated, the patient was handed over to KZN VIP medics for treatment.

“The scene was chaotic when our teams arrived, but thanks to the rapid intervention of the fire department, we were able to access the injured passenger and stabilise both patients,” said a KZN VIP spokesperson.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the firefighters for their swift and efficient response.”

Both patients were stabilised at the scene before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further care. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
