Gunshot victim dies on Chris Hani Road
The security guard sustained multiple gunshot wounds and went into cardiac arrest.
A SECURITY guard died following a shooting incident on Chris Hani Road in the vicinity of Effingham this evening (November 1).

According to Garrith Jameson of ALS Paramedics, the man, believed to be in his 30s, sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
“Initial reports were that a security officer had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived on scene to find the SAPS and security officials in attendance and were shown to a critically injured security officer,” he said.
While treating the critically injured man, he went into cardiac arrest and died at the scene.
“Advanced life support paramedics worked to stabilise the man, however, he went into a state of cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts by the paramedics, the man, unfortunately, passed away on the scene,” said Jamieson.
SAPS will investigate the shooting further.
