Man shot and injured in alleged hit on North Coast Road

While the victim's car was riddled with bullets, he only received a bullet-hole wound to his arm. The circumstances around the shooting are unclear but will be investigated.

A MAN has escaped serious injury after unknown gunmen opened fire on his vehicle on Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road) in what was allegedly a hit.

The victim’s vehicle was riddled with bullets, and he suffered a gunshot wound to the arm in the incident which is believed to have begun in KwaMashu.

Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell confirmed that the incident occurred at about 10:00.

“We received reports of a shooting at the corner of Chris Hani Road and Orange Grove in the Park Hill area. Our Special Operations team and officers arrived on the scene and found a male victim, approximately 30–35 years old, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm.

“The victim reported being shot at while in the KwaMashu area and had fled to Park Hill seeking assistance. His vehicle showed multiple bullet holes, underscoring the severity of the incident. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear and are under investigation,” he said.

Powell added that Greenwood Park SAPS had taken over the investigation to uncover further details surrounding the shooting.
