THE Emergency Services Awareness Day on Saturday was a resounding success. Residents were treated to a number of displays, including vehicles on fire as well as mock accidents.
Organiser Tyron Powell, said the event was to raise the awareness of the emergency services as well as organisations such as the CPF, neighbourhood watches and security companies.
Earlier this year Powell along with other security companies formed an NPO called the Law Enforcement Foundation, which is aimed at raising funds for various crime prevention projects among the local community policing forums.
“The event was fantastic and I’m thankful for the support shown by local residents and the emergency personnel today. I think people don’t realize the responsibility emergency service personnel actually have, and this event was all about appreciating what they do for us as well as highlighting the work they do,” he said.
