Founder of the home, Jo Teunissen, was thrilled with the turnout for the fundraiser, the first with crowds since 2019.
“This really was a resounding success. It was amazing to be able to see so many of our regular supporters again, and to also meet new people, and for them to see who we are and what we do. We were totally sold out of tickets and even had to let some people down who tried to get tickets at the last minute.
“For us, this was not just about raising funds for the home; it was about raising awareness of who we are and how people in the community can get involved and help here at the home. The next event will be in November,” Teunissen added. “That will be World Adoption Day. This is usually the highlight of our social calendar and is definitely not one to be missed.”
