Two killed in drive-by shooting in Effingham

The victim and a passenger were found deceased in a vehicle on Effingham Road.

GREENWOOD Park police are investigating a double murder after two men were gunned down on Monday afternoon on Effingham Road.

The incident occurred at about 15:00 confirmed Emer-G-Med paramedics spokesperson Kyle van Reenen.

“On arrival on scene, a silver Lexus was found peppered with high-calibre bullet holes. Two adult males were found seated in the vehicle with multiple bullet wounds. Closer inspection found them to have sustained fatal injuries, and they were declared dead on arrival of paramedics,” he said.

Van Reenen added the motive for the shooting is unknown, and the suspects fled the scene in an unknown vehicle.

“The South African Police Services were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigation accordingly.”
