Man sustains critical burns after explosion

A MAN has sustained critical burns following an explosion in Riverhorse Valley.

“A short while ago, Medi Response paramedics and their search-and-rescue division responded to a report in Riverhorse Valley in Durban of an industrial accident,” said Paul Herbst of Medi Response Paramedics.

Herbst said upon the arrival of the paramedics, it was established that a bitumen tank had exploded, resulting in a worker sustaining extensive burns.

“Paramedics worked to stabilise the critical man before he was transported through to hospital for further care,” he said.
