Burglar arrested in uMdloti with stolen items
The suspect was apprehended by armed response officers on Second Avenue with stolen items in his possession after a street-patrol guard spotted him fleeing the property.
A BURLGAR who stole from a property in Newsel Road, uMdloti, in the early hours of this morning, was apprehended shortly after committing the crime.
The suspect was found in possession of household electrical items which were stolen from a premises on Newsel Road where the suspect had forced open a sliding door to gain access.
According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the dispatch centre received multiple alarm activations from clients in the same complex.
“A street-patrol guard saw the suspect fleeing the property. Armed response officers responded, and the suspect was apprehended on Second Avenue with stolen items in his possession,” said Powell.
“The Durban North SAPS arrived and transported the suspect to the station for further investigation and processing. The suspect is believed to be involved in the most recent house-breakings [burglaries] within the uMdloti area, however, this will be investigated further by the SAPS,” added Powell.
