First Wonder Woman awards held in uMhlanga

The awards were aimed to honour women who had impacted society and business by inspiring and mentoring others and making a difference in some way.

THE first-ever Wonder Woman Awards, powered by The Gold Bar, were recently held at The Capital Pearls of Umhlanga.

“The event is a platform where we recognise and reward women making a difference in society and in the business world,” says Sholain Perumal, CEO of The Gold Bar who intends to hold this event yearly.

“The awards orchestrated a gathering to honour women who shape the global landscape. The venue exuded empowerment, embodying Wonder Woman’s ethos: uplifting, recognising and saluting transformative women,” she said.

“These are the women who inspire and mentor others and are determined to add value. Through their daily struggles, they never give up. [They are] women who are willing to cheer each other on and grow in the process – women who add heart to whatever they do,” she said.

She added that while Wonder Woman is a fictional character, the qualities she embodies can serve as a source of inspiration for real-life individuals to strive for personal growth, empowerment and positive change in the world. Being a Wonder Woman is about being a force for good and making a positive impact in your own unique way.

Criteria had to be met before entering. The Gold Bar looked for Women in business, women in charity, or women making an impact in other people’s lives and in society.
