Principal of the school Shena Audhpersadh said the untimed event is about having fun, creating awareness and fostering acceptance for neurodiversity in and out of school settings, and catering for the diverse social, emotional and academic needs of individuals.
“As a remedial school that caters to learners from different backgrounds, we also hope the event will raise awareness regarding the misconceptions about neurological differences. We want to recognise the talents of our neurodivergent learners, and we felt the Colour Blast was the perfect way to do that. The bright colours match up well with the neurodivergent spectrum. All the funds raised from the event will go towards the school,” she explained.
Audhpersadh said the event is open to the public, and there is an option for a 3km or 6km untimed walk for the event.
