Alleged uMhlanga thief arrested with stolen laptop

The suspect, who broke into a Marine Drive home this morning, is believed to have been involved in numerous house burglaries in the area.

AN intruder who broke into an uMhlanga home in the early hours of the morning was arrested a short while later in possession of the stolen goods.

Marshall Security armed response officers reported to the scene on Marine Drive. After inspection, it was discovered that an intruder had forcibly entered the home between a toilet window’s burglar guards.

“The suspect fled after encountering the homeowner but managed to steal a laptop. Our special operations team spotted him on Chartwell Drive where he was apprehended, still in possession of the stolen laptop,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

The suspect was taken into custody and handed over to Durban SAPS for further investigation and processing. He is believed to have been involved in numerous house burglaries in the area.

SAPS Durban North Trio Crimes Unit and Home Hawks were also involved in the success of the arrest.
