“Paramedics assessed the scene and found that a male, believed to be in his 30s, had sustained major injuries. Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene. It is believed the man was a passenger in the light motor vehicle. One other patient had sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
“Traffic was severely affected on the Durban-bound carriageway, and the scene will be active for some time. At this stage, the events leading up to the crash are unknown, however, SAPS and metro police were in attendance and will be investigating further,” he said.
