Umhlanga Rocks Drive fuel thief suspect arrested
The suspect admitted to the fuel theft and was handed over to Durban North police.
A SUSPECT linked to an alleged fuel theft was arrested on Friday after he was spotted driving in the area.
According to Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the suspect was linked to a fuel theft incident at a service station on Umhlanga Rocks Drive.
“While conducting routine patrols in the Sunningdale area, our officers identified a white Suzuki Ertiga linked to a fuel theft incident that occurred just over a week ago. Recognising the wanted vehicle, our team discreetly followed it and, with the assistance of Durban North SAPS, successfully intercepted it on Glen Anil Street.

“Upon questioning the driver, investigations confirmed that he was indeed the suspect involved in the fuel theft. The suspect was immediately apprehended, and the white Suzuki Ertiga used in the commission of the crime was seized as evidence,” he said.
Powell added the suspect, along with the vehicle, was transported to Durban North SAPS.
“This arrest highlights the power of vigilance, intelligence-led patrolling, and collaboration between private security and law enforcement in combating crime.”
