South Africa ranks 95th on World Happiness Report Gallup World Poll.

LAST week the world celebrated International Day of Happiness but what defines happiness and joy can vary from one person to the next.
For some it could be religion, spending times with friends, their pets, listening to a nostalgic song, reading a book, or even exercise.
According to the World Happiness Report Gallup World Poll, South Africa ranks 95 out 147 countries.
We spoke to a few Durbanites who shared what brings them joy and here’s what they had to say.

In 2012, The General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed March 20 as the International Day of Happiness, recognising the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals.
“Happiness is a fundamental human goal. The United Nations General Assembly recognises this goal and calls for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes the happiness and well-being of all peoples,” the United Nations said in a statement.
