
GREENWOOD Park police are investigating a case of murder after a body was discovered in the bushes along Riverside Road.
A member of the public flagged down a Marshall Security officer just after 12:40 on Monday (March 24).
“The individual reported having spotted a body in the bushes along the uMngeni River,” explained company spokesperson Tyron Powell.

“Our officer confirmed the presence of the body of an approximately 30-year-old man lying within the mangroves. The officer called for further assistance and a trail of blood was observed leading from the Riverside Road pedestrian walkway down to the location of the body.”
A knife was also discovered at the scene.
“Due to the difficult terrain, SAPS and Metro Police Search and Rescue teams were also called in to assist with the retrieval of the body.”
