Durban’s Super Giants retain several key players

In addition to these crucial retentions, DSG proudly welcomes two global T20 powerhouses, Jos Buttler and Sunil Narine.

DURBAN’S Super Giants (DSG) has announced some of its squad members for the upcoming fourth edition of the SA20 season.

The franchise has retained explosive South African batter Heinrich Klaasen as a wild card retention and Afghanistan’s spin sensation Noor Ahmad as an international retention.

In addition to these crucial retentions, DSG proudly welcomes two global T20 powerhouses, Jos Buttler and Sunil Narine, as pre-signings, reinforcing the team’s commitment to assembling a world-class roster under the Super Giants umbrella.

“We are thrilled to continue our journey with Klaasen and Noor — both of whom have been phenomenal for DSG. Klaasen’s firepower and calmness under pressure, along with Noor’s wizardry with the ball, give us a dynamic edge. Jos and Sunil bring leadership, experience, and match-winning ability that every team dreams of. We’re building a well-rounded squad that can adapt and dominate,” explained head coach of DSG, Lance Klusener.

Speaking on being retained Klaasen said he was proud to be part of the team.

“I’m incredibly honoured to be retained by DSG, especially as a wild card. The support from the fans, the management, and the entire Super Giants family has been exceptional. I can’t wait to put on the DSG colours again and deliver for this franchise.”

His comments were echoed by Ahmad.

“This is more than a team for me. The belief this franchise has shown in me from day one is what convinced me to commit long-term. The fans, the franchise, the freedom I get here, it all feels right. Signing this deal wasn’t just about cricket, it was about belonging.”
