Community invited to attend next crime imbizo in uMhlanga
The imbizo is a way for residents and various roleplayers to voice their concerns or address service delivery issues to the SAPS.
SPOKESPERSON for the Durban North police station Sergeant Nonhlanhla Shozi has encouraged the community to attend the next crime imbizo on Thursday, September 25.
The station previously hosted several community meetings, however, in recent times, the turnouts have been low because of meetings held during the day, which has prompted the station to move this meeting to the evening.
According to Shozi the imbizo is a way for residents and various roleplayers to voice their concerns or address service delivery issues to the SAPS.

“We hope to use these engagements as a way of sensitising residents to the different crime trends in the area. A large part of what we continue to see is fraud or online scam cases. We also want to hear from residents about the crimes impacting them,” Shozi said.
Darryl Oliver, PRO for the Durban North CPF, echoed Shozi’s comments.
“The imbizo gives residents an opportunity to engage directly with members of local law enforcement, get feedback on what is being done in the area, as well as pose questions or concerns. This is your chance to directly make an impact on crime in the area,” he said.
The Durban North police station will be represented by Station Commander Colonel Jericho Nkomo and Visible Policing (Vispol) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Pam Nair.
The community will be afforded an opportunity to raise concerns and question the SAPS officials.
