Cyclist injured in Umhlanga Rocks Drive accident
The cyclist suffered a head injury in the accident.
A CYCLIST sustained a head injury in an accident along Umhlanga Rocks Drive near the Fernlea Road intersection (Somerset Park) on Thursday afternoon (October 16).
“According to initial reports, the cyclist may have experienced a medical emergency prior to losing control and falling onto the roadway, where he was subsequently struck by a light motor vehicle.
“Following the incident, the cyclist reportedly regained consciousness and attempted to leave the scene, seemingly unaware of the extent of his condition. He later collapsed approximately 100m away from the initial crash site,” KZN VIP Paramedics spokesperson Gareth Naidoo said.
