RIVERSIDE Trail, a community-based trail running group, who run every Wednesday from Virginia Circle (meet at Virginia Soccer Stadium), recently celebrated its 15th birthday.

The group also utilises the various trails through Virginia Bush Nature Reserve to promote the natural beauty of the space and the sport of trail running.

According to founder of the group and trail running stalwart, Buzz Bolton, the group meets at 05:15 every Wednesday and cover approximately 7km routes inside the bush.

Bolton added that participation is free.

“These weekly early morning runs are over by 06:15. Riverside Trail welcomes all and sundry to join in. To find out more information visit our Facebook page, Riverside Trail,” he said. “Virginia Nature Reserve is our happy place. For the past 15 years it has received excellent support from the Durban Metropolitan Open Spaces System (Dmoss) and the group also helps in the upkeep and maintenance of the trails within the reserve.”

Anyone interested in joining this group at no cost can WhatsApp Buzz Bolton on 082 956 1608 or email him at [email protected].
