Danville bring home gold at water polo tournament
The Durban North school was among 15 top schools battling it out in the pool.
DANVILLE Park Girls’ High School’s water polo team showed grit and determination to win the Inspired Cup Water Polo Tournament at Reddam Bedfordview recently.
With 15 top schools in the mix, it was a thrilling showcase of talent and teamwork as the team won all their games.
The team also won two penalty shoot-outs.

The first team captain of Danville’s water polo team, Kiara Cawood, expressed her joy at the victory.
“I can’t describe how proud I am of this team. Everyone has worked so hard this season and supported each other. Their dedication really shows in every match. This was the first time we’ve been at this tournament at Reddam Bedfordview, and our goal was to win it. Our hard work and passion really shines through in our win.
“Overall, this year has been really positive. We’ve grown stronger with every match, learnt from our mistakes and built amazing team spirit along the way. Our team is very connected, and we all share a real passion and love for the sport and for each other. That created a really joyful environment where everyone enjoys being part of the team. Everyone brings something extremely special to this team and plays such an important role which makes our team really unique,” she said.
