One arrested after Springfield Park car theft
A member of the public who witnessed the car theft aided in helping authorities track down and arrest the suspect.
A MEMBER of the public who witnessed a car being stolen helped in its recovery by following the suspects and informing law enforcement of the vehicle’s location.
The vehicle, a VW Polo, was stolen on Intersite Avenue in the Springfield Park area on Tuesday (February 17).
KZN VIP spokesperson Gareth Naidoo said the suspect was arrested on Inanda Road near Parlock.

“It is alleged that a white VW Polo occupied by four to five suspects was involved in the theft of a grey VW Polo along Intersite Avenue. The suspects managed to flee the scene with the stolen vehicle shortly after the incident occurred.
“A witness who observed the theft bravely engaged in pursuit of the stolen vehicle. The chase continued until the suspect was intercepted and apprehended along Inanda Road. One suspect was successfully taken down and detained at the scene,” he said.
Naidoo said the remaining suspects evaded arrest.
“KZN VIP, together with multiple law enforcement agencies and private security partners, responded swiftly and worked collaboratively to ensure the suspect was brought into custody, a big well done to the brave individual who witnessed this unfold and pursued whilst alerting the necessary authorities,” he said.
