Over a decade of guiding Greenwood Park youth

For 12 years, Destiny Fulfilled has been a pillar of strength to youth at Parkhill Secondary providing them with skills and mentorship to equip them for the future.

DESTINY Fulfilled, a youth-based organisation, commemorated 12 years of empowerment, leadership development, and community transformation at its combined anniversary and matric graduation celebration on Friday, February 13 at Liberty Hall.

The milestone event honoured the organisation’s journey while recognising the accomplishments of this year’s matric graduates.

The organisation has adopted Parkhill Secondary where founder Michelle Tryon and other volunteers work to equip youth with the tools, guidance, and opportunities to lead lives of purpose and impact.
Tryon said the theme was inspired by the idea of transition and growth.

“Twelve years represents resilience, consistency, and measurable impact. This year’s celebration was inspired by growth, both organisational and personal. We wanted the theme to reflect transition: from learners to leaders, from students to young adults stepping into their next chapter,” she said.

Tryon added that the matric celebration was designed to honour not just academic success, but personal evolution.

“The matric graduate party was intentionally designed as a recognition of character, courage, and perseverance. It was about saying, ‘You’ve earned this moment, and you are ready for what’s next.'”

Tryon said the event captured the full story of Destiny Fulfilled’s development over more than a decade.

“Over the past 12 years, our work has expanded beyond supporting young leaders academically. We have built platforms that advance women’s empowerment, strengthen families, and contribute to broader social justice conversations within our communities.”
