According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the incident unfolded yesterday morning (March 24) at approximately 10:45, when a vigilant member of the public noticed a suspect trespassing at a property on Clarendon Road and alerted the Marshall Security Emergency Dispatch Centre.

Armed Response Officers and the Special Operations Team were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon realising he had been spotted, the suspect fled, running through neighbouring properties along Park Road.

The member of the public remained on the call, tracking the suspect and providing real-time updates, enabling responding teams to follow his movements.

After an extended foot chase, the suspect attempted to evade capture by climbing a tree at the corner of Blackburn Road and Chris Hani Road, where he hid and refused to come down.

Marshall Security officers, supported by Greenwood Park SAPS and the Metro Police K9 Unit, quickly surrounded the area. Members of the team then climbed the tree to reach the suspect and bring him down safely.

The suspect was apprehended and transported to Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing and investigation.
