Hijacking victim stabbed, abandoned on N2 freeway
The victim had multiple stab wounds to his neck, head, shoulder, and stomach and sought assistance from passing motorists.
A MAN who was hijacked in Morningside was repeatedly stabbed by armed suspects who then abandoned him in the bushes on the N2 near the Sibaya off-ramp on Sunday morning (March 29).
The suspects allegedly forced the victim into his own vehicle in the early hours of Sunday, and demanded money and valuables.
Members of the Verulam SAPS and Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) arrived on scene just after 09:15 and treated the victim who had multiple stab wounds to his neck, head, shoulder, and stomach.

“When our SOT arrived they found that a member of the public had already stopped to assist the injured male. Our officers began administering first aid and his family members were contacted and informed of the situation,” explained Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.
“Preliminary information indicates that the victim had been hijacked in the early hours of the morning in the Morningside area by an unknown number of armed suspects. The suspects allegedly forced the victim into his own vehicle, where they demanded money and valuables. During the attack, the victim was repeatedly stabbed.”
Powell added that the suspects drove around with the victim before abandoning him in the bushes and fled with with the victim’s belongings and his vehicle, a grey Kia Rio.
“Despite his injuries, the victim managed to walk and seek assistance from passing motorists. Family members later arrived on scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment,” Powell said.
