The event featured celebrity players from the Sharks and Dolphins in an otherwise all-adult line-up.

Among the junior golfers was 10-year-old Shreya Naidoo, a Grade Five learner from Crawford International La Lucia, who described the event as an “awesome experience”.

Shreya was proud to help her team top the Day 2 leaderboard and qualify for the finals, while also shooting under par on both days. Her achievements include being Junior Africa Champion (2023/2024/2025), SA Kids Player of the Year 2025, and qualifying for the US Kids Worlds in 2025 and 2026 in her age category.

Nine-year-old Carter Ross, a Grade Four learner at Umhlali Preparatory, was also selected for Maule’s four-ball team. Carter, who is SA Kids Player of the Year and a Junior Africa Champion in his age category, said he had “the best experience” playing the challenging par-3 course and was thrilled the team reached the finals.

Also competing was 13-year-old Keemaya Naidu, a Grade Seven learner at Crawford International North Coast. Keemaya, the 2025 Junior Africa Champion and SA Kids Player of the Year in her age category, said it was a wonderful experience playing at Kingsmead Stadium and finishing seventh in
the finals.

Crawford International North Coast deputy principal Kerryn Viljoen, who caddied for the team, praised the young golfers’ confidence, teamwork, and composure against adult competitors, adding that “the future of golf is certainly looking bright”.
