The white Chevrolet Spark was spotted travelling along Swapo Road in the Broadway area at about 20:37.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, the company’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received information about the vehicle and immediately circulated its details to armed response officers in the area.

“Within a short while, our officers successfully located and intercepted the stolen vehicle on Swapo Road. Two suspects were promptly apprehended,” said Powell.

Durban North SAPS attended the scene shortly afterwards and the suspects were taken to the Durban North police station for further investigation and processing.

Powell said the recovery highlighted the importance of information sharing and co-operation between private security companies and the police.

“The quick sharing of information and co-ordinated response between Marshall Security and SAPS resulted in the successful recovery of a stolen vehicle and the apprehension of two suspects,” he said.

The suspects are expected to face further investigation and processing by police.
