DURBANITES can look forward to international cricket returning this week when the Australian men’s tour of SA kicks off at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead.

Kingsmead will host one of three One Day Internationals (ODI) between the Proteas and Australia on Heritage Day, Thursday, September 24.

While Cricket SA (CSA) officially launched the 2026/27 domestic cricket season at the end of August the international cricket calendar begins with Australia’s tour.

CEO of KZN Cricket Heinrich Strydom believes that it doesn’t get bigger than taking on Australia in a Test match.

“This is a match that you mark in your calendar and we cannot wait. The Proteas against Australia is always full of drama and intrigue, and we know that they come to our shores wanting to prove a point which sets things up beautifully for an exciting tour.”

Kingsmead will also play host a Test match between the two countries later in October.
