Delicious treats at Christmas fair takes the cake

WHAT is Christmas without cakes and puddings? And what better Christmas cakes and puddings are to be found on the north coast than those baked by Christmas Fair Fund master-bakers, Gaby Lyle and Maryderne Boyce?

Cakes and puddings by these two women have become must-haves over the years, because no Christmas dinner is complete without one of their masterpieces.

The cakes and puddings will be on sale at the 61st Christmas Country Fair, held on 6 and 7 November at Collisheen Estate, near Ballito.

To avoid disappointment, order in advance by contacting Maryderne Boyce on 032 946 2425 or 082 801 1942 or email mboyce@mweb.co.za

The price of the puddings is R60 each while cake prices vary according to size and weight. Apart from cakes and puddings, many other home bakes goodies will be available from the Christmas Fair Fund table.

Look out for homemade quiches, brandy tarts, almond tarts, fudge and biscuits.

Traffic flow and parking have been streamlined, with a new entrance to the venue via the Orchid House entrance to Collisheen Estate, leading to a spacious parking area.

Entrance tickets are R40 per person which includes tea or coffee and delicious snacks. Tickets will be sold at the entrance, but are also available in advance from One of a Kind at Burnedale (Umhlali) and at Bliss Divine at Ballito Bay Mall. A harvest table lunch at R50 per plate will also be on offer.

All funds raised at the Fair will be distributed to deserving north coast charities.
