Catch trio, Subway Run, in action
Subway Run’s performance gets underway at 6.30pm and tickets are R70 per person.
THE three-piece band, Subway Run, which hails from the north of Durban, will be performing The Still Sessions on Thursday, 3 March. The band consists of three members: Freddy Lalendle on lead vocals, Bradley Downs on guitar and slides and Celene Adams on vocals and percussion. The trio met at an open mic evening, started jamming together and had an instant click, and this is when the Subway Run was born.
Their sound is a combination of soul, blues, indie rock and a touch of folk. The focus of the band is on creating heartfelt compositions. The hurt and pain, but also the happy times that they went through individually, have made their passion for music very strong, they said.
The trio draws their inspiration from artists such as Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Louis Armstrong, Sons of the East and Mumford and Sons. The venue is Distillery 031, situated on the first floor of The Foundry at 43 Station Drive.
