Thieves attempted to steal a Toyota 300 Series Cruiser at Laerskool Fairland on August 6, but Beagle Watch caught up with them on August 12 in Fairland.
The Beagle Watch senior management team, including managing director Andre Aiton and operations manager Frikkie Nel, immediately joined the Beagle Watch Specialised Crime Unit to investigate the case.

Their team obtained and studied CCTV footage from various sources and identified the Toyota T Cross linked to the crime. The Beagle Watch CCTV team, with the help of the JMPD Vuma Control Room, picked up on the registration number of the vehicle and started monitoring it.
On August 12, their team received an alert from the JMPD Control Room Centre that the vehicle was headed back to Fairland. Beagle Watch’s Specialised Crime Unit, as well as the JMPD Tactical Response Unit, was deployed.

With live updates from their CCTV team, the vehicle was tracked and intercepted at the corner of Beyers Naude and Pendoring roads.
Two suspects were arrested in possession of a signal jammer and various other vehicle-breaking implements. Four sets of number plates were found in the vehicle.
Aiton said that this is a breakthrough for them. “These individuals have served time in the past for vehicle theft, and our teams were instrumental in tracking them down and handing them over to Fairland SAPS.”
He added that this success also reiterates the power of combining their state-of-the-art CCTV technology with the tenacity, expertise, and quick responses of their teams on the ground.
