“I have so many fond memories of growing up in Brooklyn,” Streisand recalled in the film. “I’m proud of where I came from.” After leaving Brooklyn to pursue her dreams, the award-winning singer said the borough never truly left her, describing its people as ‘down-to-earth’ and crediting her upbringing for making her who she is today.
Originally conceived after Streisand was invited to headline the opening of Brooklyn’s state-of-the-art Barclays Centre in 2012, Back to Brooklyn became much more than a concert. It is a heartfelt celebration of home, memories and the enduring connection between an artist and her roots.
Audiences can look forward to powerful performances of Streisand’s timeless classics, a special duet with her son, Jason Gould, appearances by acclaimed Italian trio Il Volo and celebrated trumpeter Chris Botti, as well as rare reflections on Brooklyn and the remarkable people who have called it home.
