1. Gert’s murderer gets life – Three men who stood trial for the murder of Gert Maritz were sentenced in the Ladysmith High Court. Mr Maritz’s wife Ansie bravely faced the men accused of murdering her husband when she testified in court.

2. Man shoots woman and child – A man shot a woman and a young child before turning the gun on himself in a car park in front of the old tote.

3. Estcourt riders do it in Vryheid – A group of Estcourt riders fared well at a race in Vryheid, with Barry Kriel taking first place overall in the 200cc Class.
