Newcastle joined 79 countries across the globe on Worldwide Aquathon Day.
In celebration of this annual calendar date, focused on water safety awareness, Swim Studio hosted a three-hour event on Saturday morning.
This mirrored the other Aquathon events elsewhere in the world.
Entrants into Swim Studio’s event underwent a series of intense aquatic exercise sessions, which culminated at noon with a prizegiving, lunch and presentation of certificates.
The South African flag was also prominently displayed throughout.

Entry fees collected on the day were later donated to St Martin’s Village, with Pastor Thomas Beneke receiving the funds.
He expressed gratitude at the donation.
In conclusion, Honiball thanked event sponsors for contributing lunch, water, gifts and more towards the success of the day.
“Aquacise is very sociable and great fun. One may enter the water confidently and really enjoy a good workout.”
