South Africa’s Brad Binder takes his first Moto2 victory
This gives South Africans something to smile about and be proud of
Many South African tennis fans were left disappointed after South African tennis player Kevin Anderson lost his chance to become the Wimbledon champion to Novak Djokovic on Sunday (July 15).
However, South African MotoGP fans were certainly given something to celebrate when Brad Binder won his first Moto2 race in Germany at the Sachsenring circuit, also on Sunday.
Brad Binder, who rides for Red Bull KTM Ajo, also claimed the first South African intermediate class win in nearly 40 years since Kork Ballington’s 1980 win at the Nurburgring, also in Germany.
He is originally from Potchefstroom and is best known for winning the 2016 Moto3 World Championship.
