Four-year-old comes face-to-face with burglar

A frantic struggle ensued, with the burglar biting the father on the back in a desperate attempt to break free

A four-year-old toddler came face-to-face with a burglar last Wednesday evening.
Luckily for the toddler, her dad was only metres behind her.
The family had just returned home from court cricket.  They had just made coffee, and the father decided to put his eldest daughter to bed.
As he was walking his daughter to her room, she suddenly stopped.
“I was coming behind her and could not see what she could around the corner, but the look on her face told me something was horribly wrong,” explained the father (who asked not to be named).
On seeing the little girl, the burglar made a sprint for nearby sliding doors.
Unfortunately for him, they were locked.
“I threw a cup of coffee at him and then  tackled him,” added the father.
A frantic struggle ensued, with the burglar biting the father on the back in a desperate attempt to break free.
In the ensuing struggle, both ended-up crashing through the sliding doors.

“I managed to pin him down until police arrived.”

The entire incident was witnessed by the four-year-old, her two younger siblings and her mother.
More frightening though was the fact that the burglar had been in their house  for some time.
